About

Dr. Nadeesha Sandamali received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (First Class Honors) from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 2015 and she was the second in the batch. She earned the title of “Outstanding Student in Research and Development” and also was a member of the Best Final Year Undergraduate Project in the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna. Then, she worked as a Temporary Lecturer in the same faculty for one year. Later, she received a scholarship from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and started her PhD in 2016 January. Her PhD was in the field of Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) and especially focusing on developing a real-time ATFM model by considering different types of uncertainties. After completing the PhD, she worked as a Research Scientist at Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore in 2020. Now she is back in the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna as a Senior Lecturer.

Her research interests include Optimization, ATFM, Stochastic Programming, Intelligent Transportation, System Modelling and Simulation, and Communication Systems. Nadeesha has published around 15 Journal and Conference papers. She is also a member of IEEE and an affiliate member of IESL.
