About

Kushan Sudheera is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Dept. of Electrical and Information Eng., Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. He received B.Sc. Eng. (First Class Honors) degree in 2015 from the same university and scored the highest GPA in his batch (batch top). He also received three gold medals in the convocation and was awarded as the outstanding student in the fields of Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Research and Development. He was selected into the Vice Chancellor’s list of 2014 and also received the Migara Ratnatunga Trust Award from IESL for Industrial Training Projects in 2014. During undergrads, he also internationally represented Sri Lankan Universities in JENSYS 2.0 program in Japan.

Kushan then received the NTU Research Scholarship from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and completed his PhD studies in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (from 2015 Aug. to 2019 Aug.). His PhD thesis was on improving the information dissemination in vehicular networks using software defined networking.

He then joined the School of Computing, National University of Singapore as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2019 Sep. to 2021 Apr.). He was attached to the NUS-Singtel Cyber Security R&D lab, where he conducted research on Network and IoT Security using data mining and machine learning.

Kushan has published more than 25 journal and conference papers in reputed venues and has a citation score of more than 280. His research interests span over multiple domains, including Cybersecurity, Data Science, SDN, VANET, IoT, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, and Optimization.

He has contributed to the scientific community as a reviewer through multiple journals and conferences including IEEE TVT, IEEE Access, IEEE IoT Journal, IEEE Communication Letters & Magazines, IET Networks, International Journal of Communication Systems, Globecom (more details: https://publons.com/researcher/J-2919-2019/). He is also a member of IEEE, ComSoc, VTS, and CASS.
