About

Mrs.Sithara Mahagama is a Lecturer attached to the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, having joined the department in 2025. A graduate of the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, holds a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology. She completed her Master’s degree in Bioinformatics at the University of Colombo and is a member of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (MCSSL).

Her research interests include Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Prompt Engineering, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, and Data Science. Her work focuses on developing transparent, reliable, and impactful intelligent systems, while exploring the integration of emerging technologies into engineering education.

She is actively engaged in teaching, research, and student mentoring, with a strong interest in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world applications.
