The Faculty of Engineering extends its heartfelt congratulations to R.M.D.P.P. Rathnayaka and H.C.R. Wijerathne for securing First Place and Second Place, respectively, in the Best Undergraduate Project in Geotechnical Engineering among Sri Lankan Universities for the Year 2026, awarded by the Sri Lankan Geotechnical Society (SLGS).
These national-level achievements highlight the outstanding quality, technical excellence and research contributions of undergraduate students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The award-winning research projects demonstrate the department’s strong commitment to promoting innovative and impactful research in the field of geotechnical engineering.
Both research projects were conducted under the supervision of Prof. N.H. Priyankara, whose guidance and expertise contributed significantly to the successful completion of these projects.
The Faculty takes immense pride in these remarkable achievements and extends its best wishes to both students for continued success in their academic and professional endeavours.
