Team FalconX proudly emerged as the Champions in the University Category at the prestigious IESL RoboGames 2025/26 competition, organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Moratuwa in collaboration with The Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) and SLT-Mobitel.
The competition, which focused on autonomous drone technologies, attracted talented undergraduate teams from universities across Sri Lanka and provided a highly competitive platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise in robotics and autonomous systems.
Following several challenging preliminary and final rounds conducted using simulation environments including Webots and ArduPilot SITL, Team FalconX successfully secured the championship title. The final round of the competition was held on 26th April 2026 at the University of Moratuwa, while the official announcement of winners and award ceremony took place on 09th May 2026 at the SLTMobitel premises, marking the formal recognition of their achievement.
This achievement brings great pride and recognition to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, and highlights the growing excellence of its students in the fields of robotics, autonomous systems, and emerging technologies.

The achievement was made possible through the commitment and collaboration of W.M. Heshan Pasindu (EG/2022/5071) as the Team Leader, together with N.W. Sathsara Anuradha (EG/2022/5202), R. Janith Chamikara (EG/2022/5203), K.A. Janith Hisara (EG/2022/5077), and K.M. Wathsan Induwara (EG/2022/5083), whose collective dedication and teamwork played a vital role in securing this remarkable success.
