“Techno Sri Lanka,” the premier National Engineering & Technology Exhibition organized by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL), was held on the 10th, 11th and 12th October 2025 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo 07. The event brought together all engineering faculties, industry professionals, and innovators from across the country, providing a national platform to showcase cutting-edge engineering solutions and technological advancements.
The Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, proudly secured the Gold Award at the “TECHNO 2025 Awards Ceremony” held on 26th November 2025 at the Shangri-La, Colombo, in recognition of the most innovative and cutting-edge technological displays in the Universities category presented at the exhibition. This prestigious achievement marks a significant milestone in the faculty, as the Gold Award was received after 11 years at the Techno Award Ceremony.
The Faculty extends sincere gratitude to the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, for his continuous guidance and support throughout the exhibition. Special appreciation is extended to the Faculty Coordinator for TECHNO 2025, Eng.(Ms). R. N. I. Navindi, whose leadership and dedication contributed significantly to this outstanding achievement, as well as to all participating students for their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment, which were instrumental in achieving this remarkable success.
In addition, students of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna secured all three places (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) in the CAD Eager Competition at the Techno Exhibition-2025 held on 12th October 2025. Furthermore, they also achieved 2nd and 3rd places in the Undergraduate Inventor of the Year(UIY) competition.
