Five international research papers affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, were recognized among the top 100 papers published by Sri Lankan scientists in journals with the highest SCImago Journal Ranking (SJR) for the year 2021. Seven authors from the Faculty of Engineering received the President’s Award for Scientific Research at the awarding ceremony held in Colombo on 18 December 2025. Prof. Subashi De Silva, Prof. Tushara Chaminda, Dr. Indika Perera, Dr. Pasika Ranaweera, Dr. Geeth Priyankara, Dr. Krishan Chanaka, and Eng. Kasun Gimhana were honored during the ceremony organized by the National Research Council (NRC) of Sri Lanka.
