The Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, proudly participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Incubation Centre (VALID Centre) held on 23rd January 2026 at the Park Road premises of the University of Vavuniya.
The Centre for Verification of Accuracy and Learning for Innovation and Development (VALID Centre) was inaugurated with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and technological advancement, particularly in the Northern region of Sri Lanka. The event brought together academics, innovators, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders to celebrate a significant milestone in strengthening the nation’s innovation ecosystem.
Representing the University of Ruhuna, a team from the Faculty of Engineering showcased a diverse range of innovative research and development projects of our own.

The exhibition stall attracted significant interest from visitors, including academics, industry professionals, and policymakers.
