DEGREE PROGRAMMES OFFERED BY THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
M.Phil & Ph.D. Degree programmes offered by the faculty of engineering
The faculty commenced its postgraduate research degree program attached to Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2008 by the enacting of the university regulation to award MPhill and PhD degrees. At present several of students are undertaking research towards MPhil degree at the three departments. The MPhill program requires two years of full time registration or three years of part time registration. PhD program requires three years of full time registration or 5 years of part time registration. As University of Ruhuna is progressing towards an international status, many new research works are being initiated by the academic staff members who would lead to many MPhil degrees. The ARS 2020 is the 7th Annual Research Symposium of Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna which will bring together the key researchers, academics and practitioners from industry spread all over the country.

The Techno 2017 annual engineering exhibition organized by the IESL was held during October 13th, 14th and 15th 2017. Selected final year projects from Department of Civil and Environment Engineering, Department of Electrical and Information Engineering and Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing engineering was showcased during the exhibition representing the faculty of engineering university of Ruhuna. The faculty won the silver award for the best display with university projects.
