Heartfelt congratulations to Team Aero-Sense from the University of Ruhuna for their outstanding achievement in securing 1st place at the INSL Idea Stage Competition 2024, organized by IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (INSL). This prestigious competition was held over multiple stages, beginning with provincial rounds and culminating in a national final where the top teams from across Sri Lanka showcased their innovations. Team Aero-Sense not only secured first place in the Southern Province but also emerged as the national champions in the island-wide competition.
Their success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and exceptional teamwork. The project, titled “Joint Communication and Sensing at ELF using AI-Enabled Radio Receivers,” was developed as their final-year project in the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Ruhuna. The project was guided by Dr. Chatura Seneviratne as the supervisor and Prof. Arjuna Madanayake from Florida International University, USA as the co-supervisor.
