Chamath Wijerathne<\/strong> and <strong>Eng. (Ms) Dilki Chamika<\/strong> for receiving <strong>Best Paper Awards<\/strong> at the <strong>11th International Symposium on Advances in Civil and Environmental Engineering Practices for Sustainable Development (ACEPS 2026)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The symposium was successfully held on <strong>23rd July 2026<\/strong> at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, in collaboration with <strong>Saitama University, i-Constructions Laboratory, Department of Civil Engineering, Institute of Engineering Innovation, The University of Tokyo, and the Research Centre for Eco Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Eng. Chamath Wijerathne received the Best Paper Award for his research titled \u201cEffect of Fine Content on the Performance of Dynamic Compaction\u201d, which investigates the influence of fine content on the effectiveness of dynamic compaction for ground improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Eng. (Ms) Dilki Chamika received the Best Paper Award for her research titled \u201cHigh Throughput Approach to Enumerate *E. coli* in Surface Water and Wastewater by Measuring Enzyme Activities Via Microplate Reader\u201d, presenting a high-throughput approach for the enumeration of E. coli in surface water and wastewater through enzyme activity measurements using a microplate reader.<\/p>\n<p>These achievements reflect the high standard, innovation and relevance of research carried out by young researchers in the field of civil and environmental engineering.
