IESL TECHNO Awards Ceremony -2014

Techno Sri Lanka - 2014, the National Engineering and Technology Exhibition was held on 10th, 11th and 12th October 2014 at the BMICH. It is the only exhibition, which features widest range of engineering and technology products and services in Sri Lanka. Ruhuna Engineering Faculty stall was highlighted as one of the most attracted stalls which comprised several award winning and innovative final year projects of Ruhuna Engineering students. Ruhuna Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna with its vibrant stall won the prestigious 'Gold Award for Best Stall' among the all Sri Lankan academic institutions.
In parallel with the exhibition, four major under graduate level competitions Hackathon, Mixed Design, CAD Eager and Spaghetti Bridge were organized by the IESL-YMS where Engineering students of University of Ruhuna showcased their talents by wining most of the awards. IESL Young Members Section in Engineering Faculty took initiative in organizing this year CAD Eager competition in collaboration with IESL which was successfully held on 12th October. Winning all first, second and third places in CAD Eager University of Ruhuna dominated the competition. Ruhuna Engineering Faculty students also won third place in Hackathon, third in Mixed Design and third in Spaghetti Bridge all together winning six out of twelve awards.
The 'Techno Sri Lanka 2014 Awards Ceremony' was held in grand style with the participation of stallholders, sponsors, distinguished guests, Council members, Past Presidents, members of the organizing committee and staff of the IESL Secretariat on Sunday, 2ndNovember, 2014 at the Hotel Galadari, Colombo and Dr. Chandana Perera (Dean), Dr. Chithral Ambawatte (Faculty coordinator of Techno-2014) and all competition winners graced the event.
