Faculty shined at Inter-Faculty Dancing and Literature Competition (IFDLC) - 2016

The Inter-Faculty Dancing and Literature Competition (IFDLC) of University of Ruhuna was successfully held on 21st September, 2016 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Ruhuna, Matara. Senior Professor Gamini Senanayake, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, the Deans, the academic staff members and the students of the University of Ruhuna participated for the event while Mr. Raj Kumar, Hon. Consul General, Indian High Commission, Hambantota, was the Chief Guest for the event.


Two dancing groups from the Faculty of Engineering were participated to perform under the two categories; Traditional Sri Lankan Dancing and Free Style Dancing. Among them, the students Fernando W.I.N.R ,Piyathilaka S.G.S.N, Thadshajini S, Diwakara M.C, Rajamanthree U.R.T.Y, Dharmasena M.K.R.B, Gunarathna W.R.N, Dilshani K.L.I, Amunugama C.S.B.M.R.N.L.K, and Minoli P.M performed under the Traditional Sri Lankan Dancing Category won the 1st place. Moreover, I.S.I. Jayathunga won the 3rd place for poem in Sinhala medium under the Literature competition.
